It's Sri Lanka

Visiting Sri Lanka was the best thing happened to me in 2015. The journey was full of wonders and magical moments. Among the places I have visited in Sri Lanka, Horton plains had the most breathtaking views and creatures. Of course the country is itself a wonderland for me but Horton plains is just a magical place. The climate, it's beautiful creatures and wild life, the world’s end, the baker’s fall are just amazing.

Horton plains, a world heritage site located in the central highlands of the country with rolling mountains, grasslandsevergreen forest and all. The high altitude plains are beautiful, silent, strange & excellent for trekking & bird watching. The best part is that, the climate at the plain can change very quickly at any moment. One minute it’s sunny and clear and the next minute it’s misty and chilly. If you are hoping visit the plains, then my recommend would be to start it in the morning.

The plain is a home to so many beautiful creatures. This is home to Sambar deer which keep to the edge of wooded areas, the shaggy bear-monkey (or purple-faced langur) & giant squirrel. Here large herd of Elk, silhouetted against the clouds of the lowlands, move among scarlet rhododendrons. This is also home to the rhino-horned lizard, a rare relic species. Some lizards with outlandishly glowing green scales is also seen. this is one of the best place in the island for bird watching.

There is much more, the plants, the flowers, the waterfalls and the magical world’s end. Not just one I have thousands of reasons to come back to this place. Thank you Sri Lanka, this is the best way to finish 2015. Here are some pictures of Horton place Sri Lanka, you may wanna visit too.

Sri Lanka's got all of what i have ever loved !

Of course i love my mother land, France. and if any one, by any chance asks me what my second most preferred country is, i would say SRI LANKA. know why? here are some of my favorite reasons. :)

CEYLON TEA

If you ever tasted a cup of good High Grown Ceylon Tea, preferably in the unblended form, you have tasted the BEST TEA there is. Of course, to experience that pleasure, you must go to the central hill country of Sri Lanka. To taste that heavenly cup of tea, on the way to Nuwara Eliya, look out for tea factories that advertise tea tasting. You won't forget that unique experience.

THE COASTAL VIEW

A serene, white sandy cove, next to a craggy promontory with thundering waves beating against the granite boulders. Few miles up or down the beach, perhaps a quaint fishing village, with rugged sea going "oru," a craft akin to an oversized canoe with a history going back to Inca times.
Have your cameras ready and with a full roll of film, because you won't find this anywhere else in the world.

FLOWERS

The fragrant flowers, fresh picked in bunches, are a favorite offering at Buddhist temples, thus the name "pansal mal." The color of the more abundant variety, yellow, resembles the color of the robes worn by the Buddhist monks, again making it the favorite color of the devotees.

also, the year-round hot and humid climate of southwestern Sri Lanka, makes the ideal climate for growing some varieties of orchids, one of my favorites ever.

ELEPHANTS

one of the most surprising things i heard at Sri Lanka was that there are about 2,500 to 3000 elephants in Sri Lanka, and about 500 of them are tame!
In rural areas it is fairly common to see an elephant on the side of the road, with a big bundle of coconut leaves in it's mouth. these ones in Sri Lanka are  not like the African ones. they are different. and not even like the Indian Elephants if i am not mistaken. so for me, they were all unique.

And believe me.. it has much more in it. so much more.. these were just a few i loved the most.

Sri Lanka... another simile for paradise, may be!

Talking about Sri Lanka, hell yeah, its country of wonders! during my first and the only (as per yet)visit to this wonderful country back in the year 2014, i frankly experienced the true definition of natural beauty. i ve been to a lot of countries since the beginning of my teenage time, and outta these countries.

Sri Lanka was surely a BEST one. talking about the people in it, Sri Lankans, regardless of where they are, how old they are, or what religion or nationality they belong to, they SMILE! they smile all the time.. and i guess that's why everyone calls them polite. and i guess its the true symbol of hospitality! they talk Sinhala, not all, but the majority, a nice language, which is quite rhythmic. and once again, the specialty is they speak with a smile. and this makes us kind of feel what they intend to mean, although the language and the words are not ours. and not to forget, they are helpful! too helpful, and yes, unbelievably helpful to all.

Lets say you are a foreigner, and you are lost in a village, about which you have no clew of.. guys, if you are in Sri Lanka, and if you ve got Sri Lankans around, believe me YOU ARE NOT LOST. and you are not alone either. they volunteer to help you. they show you short cuts to reach your destinations, and sometimes you stand a chance to enjoy a king coconut drink from one of the house holds on the way! they are good like that. and talking with them, its indeed one of the nicest experiences one can ever get in his life. know why, they don't know fluent English. (come on.. no one of us is perfectly fluent right? ), but they offer to help you and forget your loneliness even forgetting their inability ti communicate well with us. they consider you their own. not a stranger any more. and guess what, you need to feel this! and their, places! i call them their treasures. sigiriya, Tample of Tooth Relic, Dambulla, Anuradhapura Sacred City are some of the places i visited personally, and quite sadly there are quite a lot of places i could not reach to during my trip, especially due to the rainy weather prevailed at the time of my visit.

Sri Lanka has it all!, may it be jungles, seas, rivers, lakes, mountains, streams, paddy fields, what ever! but not volcanoes fortunately! they are a historical nation. they have a unique heritage. they ve had their own kings, their own kingdoms, and they have their own stories with regard to the history. you should see how they tell these stories with full of pride in their eyes. wow!

Amazing Sri Lanka !

Sri lanka is known for its splendour and new life experiences ranging from mouth-watering delicacies to its extraordinary culture and glamourous festivals. Long before civilisation took place in the west Sri Lanka was already full of vitality , beauty and a well-civilised culture providing a home for many ethnic groups. The cities, palaces, reservoirs, parks, temples, monasteries, monuments and works of art bore testament to the character, imagination, culture, philosophy and faith of the people of Sri Lanka.

It is indeed a land like no other ..... the sheer beauty of it can leave you breathless gasping for more . The Sri Lankans themselves are very hospitable as far as hospitability can get . The calm and quiet serenity of the country will undoubtly leave anyone calm and content . But however your senses will always be unappeasable because in Sri Lanka everyday is a new day and full of tranquil beauty that can never be put out in words .
